Mike oldfield,英国作曲家,出生日期:1953年5月15日.moonlight shadow的创作人.14岁时就与姐姐合组民谣二重唱，1973年出版的《tubular bells》，为.恐怖经典电影《大.法.师》增添阴森慑人的气氛。专辑中mike oldfield亲自演奏了近30项的乐器，不仅被誉为乐器天才，其中电子合成器的运用，也被视为日后新世纪音乐的起源之一，《tubular bells》成为他不朽的代表作，1992与1998年更出版了《tubular bells》的第二、三集续作。70年代，他尚有一些演奏专辑出版，不过由于忧郁的个性与压力双重影响，mike oldfield处于精神崩溃边缘，因此他过着隐士的生活甚至接受治疗。80年代，专辑《qe2》是他另一张代表作品，而从《five miles out》、《crises》专辑之后，流行的元素再加入女歌手的客串主唱都使他的音乐听来爽朗，似乎已走出阴霾、诡谲的心里状态。
